While Abby and I were visiting our North Country family in New Hampshire, I was invited to photograph a trail ride at the
The Mount Washington Hotel. The hotel needed photos for some of their advertisements, plus I hadn't ridden since before I was pregnant with Abby.

It was fun to get on a horse and tour the hotel grounds situated in a forest below Mt. Washington. And the ride was fun to photograph.

We have always thought of the Mt. Washington Hotel as a wonderful wedding location. My family lives about a half-hour away. So we could also make it a family vacation. You can't ask for a more beautiful and spectacular setting than New Hampshire's North Country.

The Hotel has a history. It's one of the last surviving grand hotels in New Hampshire, formerly a vacation get-away for Bostonites and New Yorkers in the early 20th century. The hotel opened in 1902 and was added to the National Register of Historic places in 1978 and designated a National Historic landmark in 1986. — Cathy
