Emily and Ross' Fine Art Wedding Books

Emily and Ross were married June 7, 2008 at the Broadmoor Hotel. We just completed their Fine Art Wedding Books. Emilydecided on one for herself and one for her parents. Each time we design a Fine Art book and put it together here in our officeit blows me away. The Fine Art Wedding Book is a wonderful way to present images from a wedding day! One nice thing aboutthe book is that we can design each one differently. So Emily Ross made their own picture selections and Emily's parents have theirown. The designs are custom to each invidual book! I'm showing photographs from both. Emily and her parents both agreed on thisbeautiful soft earth tone contemporary leather as well as the mat colors, black with a white keyline, for their books. Lyn and Steve's Coffee Table Book

I photographed Lyn and Steve's Broadmoor wedding in September. In the craziness of meeting our holiday deadlines for different albums, I forgot to show here their coffee table book. It's beautiful and tells the story of their wedding day wonderfully. The book has a gorgeous cover image. Their wedding day was so unique. Lyn and Steve hosted a very small group of family and friends and were married in a ceremony in the Penrose Suite. Lyn and Steve just received their book in the mail and sent me this nice note: We received our wedding book. It is Fantastic!!!! We knew the pictures weregreat but the quality of the book, paper stock and layout is exceptional. I think about all of our family members; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren that will look atthis book and remember us and this amazing occasion. Erica and Bryan's Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Erica and Bryan's Broadmoor Wedding here. Erica and Byran were married Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Broadmoor Hotel. They were married outside on the Lake Terrace in an afternoon ceremony. Their ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour at sunset and dinner in the Lake Terrace Dining Room. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie did a wonderful job helping Erica and Bryan plan their destination wedding and we had fantastic weather! It felt more like the Bahamas than fall in Colorado. Angela and Jeff's Coffee Table Book

Angela and Jeff's Coffee Table Book arrived the other day. It's a great book that captures the spirit of their June wedding at the Broadmoor.
Angela and Jeff planned their wedding long distance, but a couple months after their wedding they moved to Colorado Springs and we get to see them regularly!(Harper and I ran into Angela and Nicholas at Kindermusik on Wednesday!) I can't wait for them to seetheir fabulous book! —Cathy

Erica and Bryan's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

You may remember Erica and Bryan from their engagement photos here or from Erica's awesome bridal portrait here. On Saturday I photographed their wedding at the Broadmoor Hotel. It was a gorgeous fall day at the Broadmoor and the fall colors around the lake were spectacular. Erica and Bryan planned a destination wedding with help from Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie. Heather and Dale's Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Heather and Dale's Broadmoor wedding here. Heather and Dale were married Saturday, September 27, 2008. This is a great day to be married. I know because it's also our own wedding anniversary:) Heather and Dale had a fabulous mountain wedding and dinner reception at the Cheyenne Lodge next to the Broadmoor's mountain course. I love this location. It has incredible views, a very cool terrace for outdoor ceremonies and the lodge is private. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped Heather and Dale plan their wedding. We made some spectacular photographs. I love this shot of Heather and her dad walking down the aisle. This picture of Heather and Dale at sunset is also wonderful. Dinah and Alex's Pauline Chapel Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Dinah and Alex were married on Saturday at the Pauline Chapel. They celebrated with a reception across the street at the Broadmoor Hotel. Dinah and Alex planned a destination wedding from Oklahoma City and invited 24 of their closest family and friends to their wedding. Their reception was held in the exclusive Penrose Room. One of Dinah's priorities on her wedding day was making sure she had great wedding photographs. I love this dramatic bridal portrait of Dinah wrapped in her veil before the ceremony. Whitney and Will's Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Whitney and Will's wedding here. They were married Saturday, Sept. 13 on the West Lawn at the Broadmoor Hotel. They wanted to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests, so we arranged for a private moment for them before the wedding and we made all of their portraits and family photos. Their schedule allowed Whitney and Will, accompanied by a violinist, were able to lead their guests across the lake to the Ross Room for the reception immediately following their ceremony. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped to plan their destination wedding and Jean-Marie of Jean Marie Designs did a great job with the flowers and center pieces on the tables. Heather and Dale's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

You might remember Heather and Dale from their engagement sitting here. I photographed their wedding at the Broadmoor Hotel's Cheyenne Lodge on Saturday. Heather and Dale decided to see each other before the wedding and we found some wonderful color by the lake. I used a fish eye lens to make this dramatic picture of Heather and Dale (above). Heather and Dale's ceremony was beautiful. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped plan their day which also included a late night snack of smores and wine outside on the patio. Lyn and Steve's Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Lyn and Steve's wedding here. Lyn and Steve were married Saturday, September 13, 2008 in the Penrose Suite at the Broadmoor Hotel. Lyn and Steve decided on a wedding weekend at the Broadmoor during dinner in the Penrose Room last year. They planned their weekend long distance with help from Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie. Lyn and Steve wanted their wedding to be truly memorable for their guests. They scheduled three days of activities. It started with dinner at the Cliff House in Manitou Springs and it included a golf round as well as plenty of spa time. It culminated in an intimate ceremony and that was followed by dinner in the Penrose Room. Whitney and Will's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Whitney and Will were married on the West Lawn at the Broadmoor on Saturday, Sept. 13. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie and Denise from the Broadmoor helped them plan a fabulous destination wedding. I loved the details from their wedding: the trumpet announcing Whitney and her father as they started down the aisle, Whitney and Will escorting their guests around the lake to the Ross Room, Whitney's stunning tanzanite engagement ring and the almost full moon over the reception on the patio. Susan and David's Broadmoor Wedding

You may remember the sneak peak I posted of Susan and David's Broadmoor wedding here. They were married on the South Terrace on Sunday, August 31. Rain interrupted their ceremony and it made for great photo opportunities! Without the rain, I never would have captured the moment of Susan's brother holding the umbrella to protect her from the rain. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie made sure no detail of their destination wedding was overlooked and the flowers by Jean-Marie were stunning. I love Susan's bouquet! After the ceremony, Susan and David and their guests enjoyed cocktails under the covered patio next to the ceremony site and then dinner and dancing in the Utah Room. Lyn and Steve's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Saturday I photographed Lyn and Steve's wedding at the Broadmoor Hotel. Lyn and Steve held an intimate wedding ceremony in the Penrose Suite with 18 of their closest friends and family in attendance. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie coordinated the affair and helped Lyn and Steve plan their destination wedding from Hawaii where they make their home. Afterwards Lyn and Steve hosted a dinner reception in the Penrose Room atop the Broadmoor's South Tower. Jeannie and Mark's Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Jeannie and Mark's wedding here. They were married on Saturday, August 29, 2008 on the West Lawn of the Broadmoor Hotel. It started to rain pretty hard when Jeannie was putting her wedding dress on and she huddled with several of her bridesmaids. "Lord, please give us a rainbow," she said. Then Jeannie met Mark for a private moment in the Lakeside Suites and we waited for the rain to clear. But it continued. So we photographed them inside the hotel. (I love this shot of them kissing in the hallway.) Afterwards we chanced it and headed for the west lawn, stopping on the bridge for a quick picture. When we arrived it was still wet so we did their family photographs inside. Just as we finished, the skies cleared and Jeannie's prayer was answered. A rainbow arched over the south tower of the hotel. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie and the staff at the Broadmoor quickly set up the ceremony site, wiped thechairs and seated the guests. Susan and David's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Susan and David were married Sunday, August 31 at the Broadmoor Hotel. Susan and David planned a destination wedding for 25 of their family and friends and Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie did a wonderful job helping them plan it. Susan and David's ceremony was outside at the Broadmoor's south terrace. The south terrace is a perfect spot for an intimate wedding. It offers great views and at sunset is a great place for cocktails. Afterwards, Susan and David and their guests enjoyed a private dinner in the Utah Room. Jeannie and Mark's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Friday I photographed Jeannie and Mark wedding outside on the West Lawn at the Broadmoor Hotel. This was my first wedding of the summer with rain. The rain threatened to move the ceremony indoors, but Jeannie couldn't imagine her wedding inside. So she we waited. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie kept a close eye on doppler radar and when there was a break, Jeannie and Mark went for it. It was perfect. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the string quartet played on. Thanks Jeannie and Mark for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day. Maggie and Oliver's Colorado Springs Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Saturday I photographed Maggie and Oliver's wedding at St. Paul Catholic Church. They celebrated afterwards with a reception at the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club. You may remember Maggie and Oliver's engagement sitting from last winter. Maggie came to us by referral. Sean photographed her brother Mike's wedding to Gina last October. During the planning stages, Maggie told me she wanted photos with mountains. Unfortunately, you couldn't see any mountains from the church, even though it is very close to Cheyenne Mountain. Nor could you see them at the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club. Not to be deterred…Maggie and Oliver opted for photos at the Broadmoor on the west lawn. As it turned out, it couldn't have been more perfect. We got the mountain views they wanted and we got some great photos on the west side of the Broadmoor! Erica and Bryan's Broadmoor Engagement Sitting

I photographed Erica and Bryan's engagement sitting on Sunday evening at the Garden of the Gods. With help from Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie, Erica and Bryan are planning an October wedding at the Broadmoor Hotel. I also did an amazing bridal portrait for Erica last night. Holly and Adam's Coffee Table Book

I just received Holly and Adam's coffee table book and I can't be more thrilled. I remember when Holly and Adam first reserved us. They wanted to purchase a flush mount album. Flush mount albums are made laminating photographic prints onto the page. I haven't seen a flush mount album yet that doesn't start to de-laminate at some point, especially in humidity. After their wedding Holly and Adam decided against the flushmount and instead chose our 40-page coffee table book. The images in the book are printed ON linen paper. It's bound in the same way the photo books in Borders are. The way our coffee table book is made is the reason why we offer them and not the flush mount albums. Holly and Adam had a fantastic wedding at Pauline Chapel and celebrated afterwards with a reception in the Ross Room at the Broadmoor Hotel. I can't wait for them to see their book! – Cathy

Angela and Jeff's Broadmoor Wedding

An earlier post gave a sneak peek of Angela and Jeff's wedding. They were married June 7 on the West Lawn at the Broadmoor and hosted cocktails on the patio and dinner for guests in the Ross Room. Carolyn and Colleen of Classic Designs helped them plan their destination wedding. Before the ceremony Angela and Jeff chose to meet near the West Lawn ceremony site for a private moment, afterwards we walked along on the west side of the lake stopping for photographs along the way. All in all Angela and Jeff's wedding day was wonderful. What was especially nice for me was how in-the-moment they and their guests were, everyone focused on celebrating and having fun. Which was great because I could focus on capturing the moments as they unfolded. Thank you Angela and Jeff for inviting me to photograph your wedding! Kelly and Louis' Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Kelly and Louis' wedding here. Kelly and Louis were married June 14, 2008 at the Broadmoor Hotel. Their ceremony was held at the west lawn in the morning. The west lawn is wonderful. Tucked off the beaten path close to the the golf course, it's a very intimate location for a ceremony at the Broadmoor. I pinched myself when I saw this adorable baby make an appearance in the aisle:)A lunch reception in the Penrose Room followed their morning wedding. I love the top image of Kelly and Louis silhouetted in the windows high above the Broadmoor. Emily and Ross' Broadmoor Wedding

Emily and Ross were married on the Lake Terrace at Broadmoor on Saturday, June 7. I posted a sneak peek their wedding here. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped Emily and Ross plan their destination wedding from Texas. They decided to see each other before their wedding, meeting in the lobby of the Lake Terrace suites. It was quite an emotional moment. Afterwards we made some wonderful portraits around the lake and finished just in time to watch the Belmont. I photographed Emily and Ross with their wedding party and families before their wedding as well. They had a delightful ceremony on the Lake Terrace in the late afternoon sun. Lynn and Joe's Broadmoor Wedding

Lynn and Joe were married on the South Terrace at the Broadmoor on Friday, June 6. I posted a sneak peek of their wedding here. With help from Colleen of Classic Designs, Lynn and Joe planned a destination wedding for a small group of friends and family. On their wedding day, Joe presented Lynn with a fabulous sapphire pendant that belongs to his mother, something borrowed and very blue to wear on her wedding day:) After a simple but beautiful ceremony on the South Terrace, Lynn and Joe joined their guests for drinks at sunset and dinner in the Penrose Room. The Penrose Room is at the top of the Broadmoor's South Tower. On the ninth floor, the Penrose Room offers views of the lake and mountains to the west and the city to the east. Kelly and Louis' Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Kelly and Louis were married Saturday morning at the Broadmoor Hotel. Their ceremony was held out on the west lawn with a view of Cheyenne Mountain. A lunch reception in the Penrose Room at the top of the Broadmoor's South Tower followed the ceremony. The Penrose Room not only offers incredible views of the mountains and the city, the menu and service is world-class. It was named a Five Diamond Restaurant for 2008, making it the only restaurant in Colorado to earn the distinction. The format of a wedding in the morning followed by an early afternoon reception really is enjoyable. Everyone was still fresh at the end of the day and we had a fantastic time doing some post-reception portraits around the grounds. Angela and Jeff's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Angela and Jeff were married Sat. June 7th on the West Lawn at the Broadmoor.I love photographing on the West Lawn, it's a beautiful spot that backs up to the golf course. The ceremony site faces several tall trees and when you frame it right, you could be anywhere in Colorado. Of course, you're still at the Broadmoor, so your getting the best of both worlds! Erinn and AJ's Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peak of Erinn and AJ's wedding here. Erinn and AJ were married at the Moutain View Terrace of the Broadmoor Hotel on Friday, May 30. Erinn and AJ capped a week long celebration with their wedding. They both graduated from the Air Force Academy earlier in the week. Erinn and AJ decided married on Friday morning and I guess you could say they planed it that way for obvious reasons; a long-overdue weekend off:) Erinn and AJ celebrated with a reception in the main ballroom and we had a pretty cool afternoon portrait session after their reception had concluded. Lynn and Joe were married on the Broadmoor's South Terrace followed by a reception for their 18 guests in the Penrose Room. They planned a beautiful day. From the musicians at the ceremony to the flowers and even tasty monogrammed gifts for their guests, no detail was left to chance. Carolyn and Colleen of Classic Designs made sure of it.
