Crabby Abby

We've been busy with wedding season and haven't posted enough photographs of the children. That's not because we haven't been photographing them. Here's a great shot of our little girl with her new t-shirt (a gift from Mammo) that doesn't strike me at all like her... most days:) Oh, I almost forgot, click here at see what she looked like two years ago. Wow. — Sean

Congratulations Katharine and Eddie!

video
A couple of weeks ago my stepsister Katharine was married to Eddie in a very small, intimate ceremony at her mother's house. Katherine invited me to attend as guest and had arranged for photography. Since she didn't have a videographer, I decided to video the ceremony using my Canon G9. Here's a little clip. I don't think it's too bad for a first-timer:) — Sean

Dumptruck - a short

video
Here's a really cute short made with our Canon G9 of our Abby. On my browser the video appears in a window twice. My apologies. Either I'm uploading the video incorrectly or blogger's still working out the bugs. Click the first window to play. And enjoy! We thought she was being awfully cute and funny:) — Sean

Three things you can do with the Canon G9

This is my last post reviewing the Canon G9. Here are three things that you can do with this camera that seem like fun and are fairly easy. The first is a panoramic picture. The software that comes with the camera allows you to stitch a photograph together pretty easily. Click on the image from a recent engagement sitting to see it larger. The second thing that's kind of neat is a selective color feature. It's called color accent. You can select a color in the camera to accent and everything else is black and white.(Well almost everything) Here are my nephews goofing around. videoThe third thing I thought was kind of interesting is time-lapse movies. Click play to watch a cruise ship pass by at sunset. Have a great Monday! — Sean

Canon G9 test drive

Regular readers will remember an accident this spring with my trusty point-and-shoot. I've been looking for one ever since. I thought I had a winner with the new Canon S5, a newer version of a camera that our friends Cassie and Will used on their honeymoon. And then I got sidetracked and never ordered it. Recently I came across a mouthwatering online review of the Canon G9 and I pulled the trigger. It arrived yesterday, right before our trip. So I spent the plane ride reading the manual and making a few moody pictures of Abby in her seat. Since I will be learning about this camera on our trip, check here the next few days to see the results. The above image was shot in color, underexposed by two stops at ISO 80 and then post-processed in Photoshop CS2. Pretty awesome so far! — Sean
