Anna and Dan's Fine Art Wedding Book

Anna and Dan's Fine Art Wedding Books are finished and we're thrilled! Anna and Dan were married in February at Shove Chapel. They decided early on that the Fine Art Wedding Book was their album of choice. We've been diligently working with them to make this incredible three volume set of books, one 12x12 master for them and two 8x8 companion albums for each set of parents. All of the books have 38 pages. The cover material is Crespi, a beautiful leather that really shows well. Anna and Dan also chose to display their pictures using a grayoverlay mat with a white key line mat. The process of putting these books together is labor intensive. We design the book digitally, print the images and then assemble the book by hand here in our studio. I love putting together books like this. They are are made in the old tradition and with classic style. I cannot wait for Anna and Dan to see them! — Sean

Angela and Jeff's Broadmoor Wedding

An earlier post gave a sneak peek of Angela and Jeff's wedding. They were married June 7 on the West Lawn at the Broadmoor and hosted cocktails on the patio and dinner for guests in the Ross Room. Carolyn and Colleen of Classic Designs helped them plan their destination wedding. Before the ceremony Angela and Jeff chose to meet near the West Lawn ceremony site for a private moment, afterwards we walked along on the west side of the lake stopping for photographs along the way. All in all Angela and Jeff's wedding day was wonderful. What was especially nice for me was how in-the-moment they and their guests were, everyone focused on celebrating and having fun. Which was great because I could focus on capturing the moments as they unfolded. Thank you Angela and Jeff for inviting me to photograph your wedding! Lynn and Joe's Broadmoor Wedding

Lynn and Joe were married on the South Terrace at the Broadmoor on Friday, June 6. I posted a sneak peek of their wedding here. With help from Colleen of Classic Designs, Lynn and Joe planned a destination wedding for a small group of friends and family. On their wedding day, Joe presented Lynn with a fabulous sapphire pendant that belongs to his mother, something borrowed and very blue to wear on her wedding day:) After a simple but beautiful ceremony on the South Terrace, Lynn and Joe joined their guests for drinks at sunset and dinner in the Penrose Room. The Penrose Room is at the top of the Broadmoor's South Tower. On the ninth floor, the Penrose Room offers views of the lake and mountains to the west and the city to the east. That night we had a perfect view of an impromptu fireworks display. Click here to see a brief slide show of their wedding. Thank you Lynn and Joe for letting me be a part of your wedding! – Cathy

Brittany and Brandon's Coffee Table Book

Brittany and Brandon's coffee table book arrived today. Their winter wedding at the Air Force Academy was beautiful. I will never forget how cold it was or how brave Brittany was to not wear a coat during portraits with Brandon outside. If you haven't seen their wedding slide show click here to view it. Their wedding was planned by Carolyn and Colleen of Classic Designs. Brittany and Brandon decided on a 40-page coffee table book. The pages are linen and laminated for protection. The book comes with a red slip cover. I can't wait for them to see their coffee table book! — Sean

Anna and Dan's Shove Chapel Wedding

Anna and Dan were married at Shove Chapel two weekends ago. I posted a sneak peek of their wedding here. Anna and Dan were like a couple straight out of the movies. I was excited when they told me they would see each other before the wedding and do all of their wedding party and family photographs. That gave them time to enjoy a ride with Lyle in his Buick and visit the Garden of the Gods at sunset. Carolyn and Colleen of Classic Designs did a fantastic job helping Anna plan the wedding and Liz Ash of Ambience Florals created some spectacular bouquets for Anna and her bridesmaids. After the Garden of the Gods, Lyle brought Anna and Dan to their reception at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Click here to see a brief slideshow from their wedding and thank you Anna and Dan for inviting me to be a part of your incredible day! — Sean

Brittany and Brandon's Air Force Academy Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Brittany and Brandon's wedding here. I couldn't have had a better couple to cap the year. Brandon courted Brittany when he was a cadet at the Air Force Academy. Now he's training to be a pilot. Theirs was a wintery wedding. Brittany arrived at the Chapel beforehand and saw Brandon outside in the Honor Court. The sun had dropped behind the mountains and a strong wind was blowing. Together they braved the elements. After the ceremony we made a dramatic portrait outside the chapel. The temperature had really dropped and no one needed to hold Brittany's veil. The wind did that:) But even then, Brittany and Brandon didn't bat an eye. Afterwards, I told Brittany that she is the bravest bride I've ever met! Click here to see a brief slide show of their day. Thanks so much Brittany and Brandon for inviting me to photograph your wedding! — Sean

Brittany and Brandon's Air Force Academy Wedding (A Sneak Peak)

Brittany and Brandon were married last Saturday at the Air Force Academy Chapel. They scheduled an early evening wedding at the Chapel and decided to see each other in the Honor Court before the wedding. A cold wind was blowing that day, so Brandon gave Brittany his coat while they waited near Harmon Hall for the wedding party to arrive. (We wanted to do a quick outside picture of everyone) Brittany and Brandon's reception was held at Doolittle Hall, a beautiful building operated by the Air Force Academy's association of graduates. Near the end of the reception, Brittany shared an emotional moment with her sister. Stay tuned for a slideshow of their wintery wedding day soon! — Sean

Melanie and Ruben's Shove Chapel Wedding

I recently posted a sneak peek of Melanie and Ruben's wedding. Melanie and Ruben were married August 4, 2007 at the Shove Chapel on the campus of Colorado College. Shove is a special building. The architecture is wonderful and its mood is dramatic. Candles in the stained glass windows are a perfect accent. Carolyn and Colleen of Classic Designs planned the wedding day and the schedule called for Melanie and Ruben to see each other at the Broadmoor Hotel before their wedding. We were very fortunate, since the skies opened up in the late afternoon and a cocktail hour was moved inside. Photographing Melanie and Ruben was a joy. They were happy to see their wedding day, and we had a relaxed and fun afternoon of photography beforhand. The evening reception in the Lake Terrace Dining Room was when the real party started. As you can see by the photographs they had a great time. Click here to see a slideshow of their wedding. Thank you Melanie and Ruben for inviting me to photograph your wedding! — Sean

Melanie and Ruben's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

You might remember Melanie and Ruben from their engagement pictures that I posted here. They were married on Saturday at Shove ChapelIt was kind of a rainy evening. Even though it rained, these two were on top of the world. It helped that we did a lot of pictures at the Broadmoor Hotel before their wedding when the sun was shining. It also helped to have two first rate wedding coordinators on the job. Carolyn and Colleen with Classic Designs are fantastic. Melanie and Ruben had an incredible reception at the Broadmoor that night. And I can't wait to show you more! Thanks Melanie and Ruben for inviting me and Cathy to photograph your wedding! — Sean
