Erica and Jason's Boettcher Mansion Wedding

Erica and Jason were married at the Boettcher Mansion August 23, 2009. I photographed their wedding as a second photographer for my friend Joanna Pinneo. Joanna is a photographer for National Geographic who makes her home in Colorado. Her image graces the cover of the book Women Photographers at National Geographic. Joanna is an inspiration to me and I'm privileged to work alongside her a couple of times every year. Erica and Jason's wedding was one of the most emotionally moving weddings I have attended. It was a wedding of mixed tradition and included a moment of silence followed by an invitation to their guests to speak spontaneously. Click here to see a brief slide show of Erica and Jason's Boettcher Mansion Wedding. The slide show will end at Joanna's web site. — Sean

Meghan and Michael's Denver Botanic Gardens Wedding (Sneak Peek)

Meghan and Michael were married Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Denver Botanic Gardens. You might remember them from their engagement sitting here. Meghan and Michael commissioned Cathy to photograph their wedding and she invited me to come and help. The Denver Botanic Gardens is one of my favorite wedding locations in Denver so I jumped at the chance. Meghan and Michael were a super fun couple and after their wedding we romped around the gardens taking one great photograph after another until we stumbled into T-Rex romping around himself:) The best part is that Meghan and Michael love dinosaurs. Their reception was held, appropriately enough, at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Their centerpieces of lego dinosaurs, painstakingly constructed during their engagement, just blew me away. Stay tuned for a slide show of Meghan and Michael's Denver Botanic Gardens Wedding soon! — Sean

Jaimie and Todd's Denver Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Jaimie and Todd's wedding here. Jaimie and Todd were married Saturday August 2, 2008 at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Jaimie and Todd started their day in downtown Denver at the Oxford Hotel. They decided to see each other before the wedding and do all of their family photographs. When Jaimie first contacted me she placed an emphasis on moments, not poses. I was thrilled. I love this moment (below) of Nathaniel and his mom as they are walking to the wedding. It was unexpected, funny and downright precious. Jaimie and Todd's reception was held inside the museum. Later Jaime and Todd got to enjoy the sunset outside on the museum roof. Click here to see a slide show of Jaimie and Todd's wedding. Thanks Jaimie and Todd for inviting me to be a part of your day! – Sean

Jaimie and Todd's Denver Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

I photographed Jaimie and Todd's wedding on Saturday at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. I mentioned earlier we are experiencing a heat wave, but fortunately we got a break. An overcast afternoon provided relief from the sun and left everyone relatively comfortable during their outdoor ceremony. Jaimie and Todd started their day at the Oxford Hotel downtown. The Oxford is next to Union Station and is the oldest hotel in Denver. Jaimie and Todd's reception was held inside the museum atrium. Newly renovated, it offers a wonderful space for a reception. Stay tuned for a slide show of Jaimie and Todd's wedding day soon! – Sean

Stacey and Trent's Fine Art Wedding Book

Stacey and Trent were married last October and we're just finishing up their wedding album. They decided on our Fine Art Wedding Book and
they chose a Silver Buckram for their cover. It was the first time one of our couples requested that cover material. I was so pleased when I saw it. It looks very sharp. I'm also excited about the images in their book. I think their choices were especially nice. Each image complements the other. And it helps that both Stacey and Trent are fun people who thoroughly enjoyed their wedding day. I'm excited for them to see it! — Sean

Nisha and Rupesh's Indian Wedding

The last two weekends have been crazy. I've just returned from a wedding in Houston (which was fabulous.) But I wanted to catch up first with another great wedding at the Marriott in south Denver on Sunday, Oct. 28 2007. It was the day the Rockies lost the world series and I was glad I was able to miss that game. I worked as the second photographer for my friend Joanna B. Pinneo. Couples commission her to photograph their weddings in a documentary fashion. There's very little that isn't photographed as it happens. I was responsible for the groom's side of the story. Documentary photography is my first love and it's how I learned the craft. Click here to see a brief slideshow of Nisha and Rupesh's Indian Wedding. The slideshow will drop you off at Joanna's web site. While you're there, take some time to view her work. And thanks again Joanna, it's always a pleasure working with you! — Sean

Stacey and Trent's Hudson Gardens Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Stacey and Trent's Hudson Gardens wedding here. They were married Saturday, October 6 on a windy, fall day. Fortunately, wind was all we had to worry about and the light during their ceremony was incredible. The ceremony was held at Monet's Place and their reception was in the main tent near the welcome center. When I first met Stacey she was concerned that Trent wouldn't loosen up and that he wasn't a big fan of pictures. I told her not to worry and we didn't. Trent meanwhile had a great time! That included an impromptu version of Michael Jackson's Thriller on the dance floor. It was hard to believe, but Trent did the entire dance from the music video. Needless to say that turned out to be great fun for everyone! Click here to see a slideshow of Stacey and Trent's wedding day. Thanks Stacey and Trent for inviting me to photograph your wedding. I had a blast! — Sean

Stacey and Trent's Hudson Gardens Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Stacey and Trent were married Saturday at Hudson Gardens in Denver. This was my first time at the Hudson Gardens and I had a blast! Before the wedding I told Stacey that it's a joy to be able photograph a wedding at a new location. I can explore and see things with a fresh eye. When they saw each other before the wedding, we walked down to the Dahlia display bed and made some pretty cool pictures! Stacey and Trent had an outdoor ceremony at sunset. The reception was held in the main tent near the welcome center. Watch for a slideshow of their wedding soon! — Sean

Liz and Andy's wedding on newsstands now!

Brides Colorado Fall/Winter edition is on newsstands now and we're pleased as punch to see that editors selected Liz and Andy's wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens for a Real Weddings feature in the magazine. Below is the page with our photographs and Liz'sdescription of their day:

"We actually forgot to arrange for music, but we didn't miss it," says Liz. Instead, the father of the bride played an impromptu jazz tune on the Boettcher Mansion's grand piano so that they could could perform an official first dance. — Brides Colorado

What is especially nice is that Liz and Andy had a very small wedding and they were featured right alongside larger, more extravagant weddings. It just goes to show that any wedding can be done well, and done well without maxing out the credit card! Click here to see a slideshow of Liz and Andy's wedding album. Below are names and links to some of their service providers. — Sean

The Fabulous Fine Art Wedding Book

I wanted to give you a sneek peek at our newest album sample. We don't even have it put together entirely, but already it blows me away. It's a 15x15 album featuring a special wedding from last summer. Andy and Liz were married in an intimate ceremony at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Their guest list included just 12 people, but their wedding was incredible. The photographs are very beautiful too and perfectly suited for this special book. We were able to print and display their wedding images much larger than in our other albums. The cover material is a Plum leather and it has a wonderful feel. The pages feature a cream-colored mat with a black mat underneath. And the photos, well I already said enough about the images. If you want to see this book first-hand just call us and we will make arrangements! And if you want to see their wedding slideshow click here. — Sean

Liz and Andy's Album

We just finished a 60-page coffee table book for Liz and Andy. They were married in a ceremony at the Denver Botanic Gardens with a reception at the Boettcher Mansion. Needless to say, the gardens are incredibly beautiful which made designing this album a lot of fun and tough too, there were too many good pictures in their portfolio! Liz and Andy

Liz and Andy were married Saturday at the Denver Botanical Gardens. Their guest list was limited to their immediate families and that made for an intimate wedding, but it was also a lot of fun! Their wedding was in the morning and was followed by a private luncheon at the Boettcher Mansion high above Denver. Liz and Andy will depart soon for a 4-month honeymoon in Europe. Andy attends graduate school at Denver University and they decided to take a semester abroad and see the sights. When we first met with them, it was hard to imagine how their wedding would go for such a small group. But their wedding turned into a great adventure for everyone. I was thrilled to be a part of it.
