Jeannie and Mark's Broadmoor Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Jeannie and Mark's wedding here. They were married on Saturday, August 29, 2008 on the West Lawn of the Broadmoor Hotel. It started to rain pretty hard when Jeannie was putting her wedding dress on and she huddled with several of her bridesmaids. "Lord, please give us a rainbow," she said. Then Jeannie met Mark for a private moment in the Lakeside Suites and we waited for the rain to clear. But it continued. So we photographed them inside the hotel. (I love this shot of them kissing in the hallway.) Afterwards we chanced it and headed for the west lawn, stopping on the bridge for a quick picture. When we arrived it was still wet so we did their family photographs inside. Just as we finished, the skies cleared and Jeannie's prayer was answered. A rainbow arched over the south tower of the hotel. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie and the staff at the Broadmoor quickly set up the ceremony site, wiped thechairs and seated the guests. What a fantastic day for a wedding and what a story! Click here to see a brief slide show of Jeannie and Mark's wedding day. Thanks Jeannie and Mark for inviting me to be a part of your day! —Cathy

Jeannie and Mark's Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Friday I photographed Jeannie and Mark wedding outside on the West Lawn at the Broadmoor Hotel. This was my first wedding of the summer with rain. The rain threatened to move the ceremony indoors, but Jeannie couldn't imagine her wedding inside. So she we waited. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie kept a close eye on doppler radar and when there was a break, Jeannie and Mark went for it. It was perfect. The ceremony went off without a hitch and the string quartet played on. Thanks Jeannie and Mark for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day. Stay tuned for a slide show from their wedding day soon. — Cathy

Emily and Ross' Broadmoor Wedding

Emily and Ross were married on the Lake Terrace at Broadmoor on Saturday, June 7. I posted a sneak peek their wedding here. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped Emily and Ross plan their destination wedding from Texas. They decided to see each other before their wedding, meeting in the lobby of the Lake Terrace suites. It was quite an emotional moment. Afterwards we made some wonderful portraits around the lake and finished just in time to watch the Belmont. I photographed Emily and Ross with their wedding party and families before their wedding as well. They had a delightful ceremony on the Lake Terrace in the late afternoon sun. Drinks on the terrace at sunset and dinner in the Lake Terrace dining room followed their ceremony. Click here to see a brief slide show of their wedding. Thank you Emily and Ross. I had a wonderful time at your wedding! – Sean

Emily and Ross' Broadmoor Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

You might remember Emily and Ross from their engagement sitting here. Emily and Ross were married on Saturday at the Broadmoor. They held their ceremony outside on the Lake Terrace and the weather was perfect. Emily and Ross enjoyed cocktails with their guests at sunset and a dinner reception in the Lake Terrace dining room. Design Works did a masterful job with their flowers and decorations. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie planned the affair. One of the highlights of the evening was an exit with sparklers. Toffee and Jake's Broadmoor wedding

Recently I posted a preview of Toffee and Jake's Broadmoor wedding. Toffee and Jake had never visited Colorado Springs until last fall when they came to the Broadmoor with plans for their wedding. They wanted a mountain setting and five-star service. The Broadmoor turned out to be the perfect destination for both. Their wedding ceremony was held on the Lakeside Terrace during a gorgeous summer afternoon complete with a Rocky Mountain backdrop. Design Works provided the flowers for the ceremony and Lake Terrace Dining Room and Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie coordinated a weekend of activities for all of their out of town guests. Click here to see a brief slideshow of their wedding. Thank you Toffee and Jake for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day! — Cathy

A nice note from Jennifer and Mathew

I just received a wonderful note from Jennifer and Mathew. They were married in April and had the most incredible wedding at the Broadmoor. Their rehearsal dinner at the Garden of the Gods Club wasn't too bad either:) Here's what Jennifer said about her photos:

WOW!! These are fabulous!! I'm addicted! It was like reading a great novel that I couldn't put down. Everyone I've heard from thinks these are amazing photos and thinks you're a fabulous photographer (of course, we already knew that but it's fun to hear their enthusiasm!!!).

I can safely say that Jennifer and Mathew are an amazing couple and we were so honored to be able to photograph their wedding. It's was an incredible weekend. I can't wait to finish their album! Thanks again Jennifer and Mathew! If you didn't get to see the slideshow of their wedding weekend click here. — Sean

Jennifer and Mathew's Wedding

Jennifer and Mathew were married at St. Paul Catholic Church and hosted their reception in the Lake Terrace Dining Room at the Broadmoor Hotel. Their wedding was mix of two traditions. Mathew's family is from India and Jen's family is from Poland. They decided on the Broadmoor Hotel because Colorado Springs is where Jennifer grew up. Their wedding was planned as a weekend affair with events that included a rehearsal dinner at the Garden of the Gods Club and a brunch at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. It was a really wonderful weekend. Events were coordinated by Maggie Moran of Celebrations by Maggie and flowers were provided by the Design Works. Jennifer and Mathew were fantastic. Their sense of style and family tradition made their wedding fun and unique to them. Click here to see a brief slideshow of their wedding weekend. — Sean

Wedding at St. Paul's Church & The Broadmoor

Jennifer and Mathew were married at St. Paul Catholic Church next door to the Broadmoor Hotel where Jennifer and Mathew hosted their reception in the Lake Terrace ballroom. There is not enough room here to show all of the wonderful photographs we made. Next week, I will be publishing a more complete portfolio and slideshow of this fabulous wedding. Before their wedding I photographed Jennifer getting ready in her Lakeside suite. After their ceremony Jennifer and Mathew returned to the hotel in a horse and carriage. It's always a romantic moment to see the couple depart the church in a horse and carriage. We were fortunate that the weather was dry. They took some extra time to enjoy their ride around the Broadmoor grounds. The reception was incredible. There are always little moments during a reception that mean so much. Here Jennifer enjoys a laugh with her father. Till next time! — Sean

Rehearsal Dinner - Garden of the Gods Club

I promised earlier to post some photographs from Jennifer and Mathew's wedding. Friday, the day before their wedding at the Broadmoor Hotel, Jennifer and Mathew held a rehearsal dinner at the Garden of the Gods Club. Mathew's family is from India and the rehearsal dinner was in keeping with Indian traditions. Jennifer wore a beautiful red Saree and Mathew wore a gold embroidered tunic to match. They made for a very handsome couple. At sunset they enjoyed Mango martinis outside on the lawn with their guests. Tomorrow I will show some wedding day images. — Sean

Toffee and Jake's Engagement

Toffee and Jake had never been to Colorado Springs but after seeing the mountains they knew that the Broadmoor would be the perfect place for their destination wedding. I photographed their engagement sitting during their planning weekend with Maggie Moran of Celebrations by Maggie. We started at the Garden of the Gods Club, the site of their rehearsal dinner, and ended in the Garden of the Gods below for some relaxed rock climbing. There's nothing more 'Colorado' than the views of Pikes Peak dusted with snow :) We had a great time and I'm really looking forward to their wedding in June!
