Our new Designer Wedding Book

I photographed Meredith and Chris' wedding last fall and we recently posted here pictures from their three-volume set of wedding albums. I loved their wedding pictures so much that when it came time to update our line of designer wedding books I decided to use Meredith and Chris' pictures from their wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club. Our new designer wedding book is just beautiful. It has a wonderful brown leather cover (in the past, our choices were either black or red leather). I first saw it on the trade show floor at our professional convention this year and I knew right away that we had to offer it. We are probably the only studio in Colorado that has this book! But it's perfectly Colorado! I know that many of our couples will fall head over heals in love with it. It's beautifully designed and the layout of Meredith and Chris' wedding pictures is exceptional. There is a nice mix of black and white and color images in the book and we chose a white page to really set off the pictures and add contrast to the leather cover. If you've never seen Meredith and Chris' wedding slide show click here. To see this book up close, call or e-mail and we will be happy to show it to you as long as you don't tell anyone about it:) – Sean

Erica and Bryan's Designer Book

We just received Erica and Bryan's designer book and it's smashing! Erica and Bryan fell in love with our designer book when they met with us before their wedding. It's a very unique book. Wonderful leather cover, hefty but still compact, the book is handmade in California and offers a really sophisticated take on the idea of a wedding album. The page designs are one-of-a-kind, individual to each book that is created and based on the picture selection for the wedding. There are unique page openings in this book that allow the viewer a sneak peek of an image before opening up the page to see the entire spread. Creating this book is very much an act of faith. It's the only book we offer where we don't show our couples a design before sending it into production. At the same time, the designer book does not disappoint! One item often overlooked is the construction of the book. It's practically indestructible. The images are "set" into the pages and the pages are heavy, textured and thick. The sample book we have in the studio for couples to see is six years old and it still looks the same as it did when Igot in the mail. I'm replacing it this year only because I want to update the pictures. I'm so pleased with how Erica and Bryan's designer book turned out. I posted a link to their wedding slide show earlier this week. But if you didn't see it click here. I can't for them to see their book, it's truly something special! — Sean

Jill and Josh's Designer Wedding Book

Jill and Josh's Wedding Books arrived yesterday and I just had to share. Jill and Josh had a spectacular wedding on the West Lawn of the Broadmoor Hotel last summer. They decided on our contemporary album for themselves and their parents. It's the same album that another of our Broadmoor wedding couples, John and Fang, decided on. Click here to see their book.
I always hold my breath in anticipation when we order this wedding book. And when they arrive in the mail, it's an exciting moment. The reason? There is no preview of the book before it's made. La Vie, the company that creates them, makes them by hand. So each and every book is different. And unique! I'm excited for Jill and Josh and their parents, to see their books. Their parents decided on two hard-bound companion albums and they are just as smashing! They even have their choice of colors, which is pretty cool.
If you're one our brides and you would like to see this book, please call or e-mail before Saturday! I think the world of our contemporary albums. I've said this before, but it really is a fine-art piece for your memories :) — Sean

Follow up on the beautiful book

A follow-up to my post about our contemporary album made by La Vie. Fang and John were married a year ago and they picked up their book when they returned to Colorado for a ski vacation. And here's what they said about their book:'Fang and I love the album. We hand carried it back from Colorado when we flew back on Sunday, and have it on display in our living room. Everyone that has seen it so far has complimented the album. It is so beautiful! Thanks again for all of your aid in getting this wonderful album together it is a masterpiece!'— John

Thanks so much for your note John! As an aside, when we compared our sample album to the new one we couldn't see any wear in our sample. It's our experience that some albums wear better than others and this one gets a five star rating! — Sean

The beautiful book in the orange box

We just received an album for Fang and John in the mail and I just had to share a few pictures of it here. Fang and John were married last February so I'm glad we are going to get their album to them before their anniversary:)
Their book is called a La Vie and they're handmade in Japan. I'm always excited when I place an order with them, in part because the album isn't proofed out to me or the couple before it's made. It's exciting too, because I'm blown away by the craftmanship of this book. They care about the books they make and the layouts are one-of-a-kind.
If you're interested in seeing this book up close (you can't see this one, but I have a sample you can check out) let me know. I think the world of them! The album is a fine-art piece for your memories :) — Sean
