Lauren's wonderful thank you note

I photographed Lauren and Nathan's Garden of the Gods Club wedding in June. They ordered a coffee table book and we just put it in the mail to them. Click here to see pictures of their book. I just received a wonderful thank you note from Lauren in my e-mail:

I received the album yesterday afternoon and Nathan and I couldn’t be more pleased. We LOVE the album and the quality is amazing, something I can really appreciate being in the design business. The paper used for each page is so nice, the pictures look great, and I love the cover and the personalized black box that the book slides into. We are especially glad that we decided to go with 30 pages. The PDF sample just doesn’t do the book justice! I am really looking forward to showing it to family & friends. The book is already on display on our coffee table and we have company over tonight! Also, thank you for the digital negatives. We are so glad to have EVERYTHING so beautifully documented. Thanks Sean! — Lauren

Thanks so much Lauren, your note means the world to us! I loved their wedding. It was beautiful. Click here to see their wedding slide show. — Sean

Lauren and Nathan's Coffee Table Book

We just put in the mail Lauren and Nathan's Coffee Table Book along with their digital negatives. We have a lot of books that we're sending out in the next few weeks, so get ready for a few more previewslike this one. I wish I could keep them all in our studio... The next best thing is to make sure that we photograph all of our books before they're sent out. This one is gorgeous. Lauren and Nathanhad a spectacular wedding day at the Garden of the Gods Club. Click here to see their wedding slide show. They selected the pictures for the book and then we sent them an online proof of the designbefore it was printed. I love being able to show our couples their books before we make them. This way I know their album is exactly right and that makes our job easier! Lauren and Nathan added 10 pagesto their book so they could allow for their pictures to be a little larger and I like the way it turned out. The book has linen pages and it comes with a black slipcover. I can't wait for them to see it! — Sean

Mamie and Nick's Garden of the Gods Engagement

Mamie and Nick are planning a May wedding next year at the Garden of the Gods Club They decided that the Garden of the Gods would make a great location for their engagement pictures. We photographed on Wednesday of last week and beat the recent storm by a couple of days. It was a beautiful day and on the way to the Garden of the Gods we stopped to catch some of the fall color. Click here to see a brief slide show of their engagement sitting. And thank you Mamie and Nick, I can't wait for your wedding day! — Sean

Meredith and Chris' Garden of the Gods Club Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Meredith and Chris' wedding here. They were married Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Garden of the Gods Club. Chris and Meredith are truly a match made in heaven. The proof was on display at their reception - a chance picture of them at a children's activity when they were three-years-old. Meredith and Chris started going together in high school. Meredith grew up just down the street from me. It was a treat to be able to photograph their wedding. While the weather didn't give us the sunshine we were hoping for, it was still very pleasant. I love this shot (above) of Meredith and Chris kissing passionately. In the evening, the sky cleared enough for me tomake this picture of a moonlit evening at the club. Click here to see a brief slide show of their wedding and thank you Meredith and Chris for inviting me to photograph your wedding day! — Sean

Amy and Adam's Garden of the Gods Club Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Amy and Adam's wedding here. Amy and Adam were married Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Garden of the Gods Club. Amy and Adam couldn't have had a more perfect wedding day. They decided on a morning ceremony, which I absolutely love. Amy and Adam didn't see each other before their wedding, but they did the next best thing and made time for bride and groom pictures after their reception. I can't show you all of the fantastic pictures that we made after their wedding, but I will tell you that we made a lot of fantastic pictures! And we romped all over Colorado Springs to do it. Click here to see a brief slide show of their wedding. Thanks Amy and Adam for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day! — Sean

Meredith and Chris' Garden of the Gods Club Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

You might remember Meredith and Chris from their awesome engagement photographs last fall. To see their engagement click here. On Sunday I photographed their wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie did a wonderful job planning their wedding. While we had some cloudy weather it still turned out to be a very pleasant day. The daylight for their outdoor ceremony at the Garden Terrace was perfect. If you can't tell by the pictures, Meredith and Chris are head-over-heels in love. Stay tuned for a slide show from their wedding day soon! – Sean

Amy and Adam's Garden of the Gods Club Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Saturday morning I photographed Amy and Adam's wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club. I almost always photograph weddings at the Garden of the Gods Club in the afternoon when the sun is staring me square in the face. Not so at Amy and Adam's wedding. The morning saw crystal blue skies and the sun was at my back. The photograph (above) of Amy and Adam during their ceremony is just spectacular. Following the ceremony Amy and Adam celebrated with a lunch reception. Afterwards I took some time with them to do a post-wedding portrait session. We traveled around the city and into the mountains to photograph. Stay tuned for a slide show of Amy and Adam's wedding day soon! – Sean

Montida and Thomas' Garden of the Gods Club Wedding

I posted a sneak peak of Montida and Thomas' wedding here. They were married at the Garden of the Gods Club on June 8, 2008. Montida and Thomas have two different cultural traditions. So they held two ceremonies; the first was a Greek Orthodox ceremony and the second was a Thai water blessing. It was wonderful how the two ceremonies connected with each other. After the first ceremony, Montida and Thomas changed into Thai wedding dress for the water blessing. You're a lucky photographer when you get an outfit change like theirs:) I was also excited that Montida and Thomas decided to see each other in the Garden of the Gods Park before their wedding. Click here to see a slide show of their wedding day and thanks Montida and Thomas! I thoroughly enjoyed your wedding day! — Sean

Lauren and Nathan's Garden of the Gods Club Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Lauren and Nathan's wedding here. Lauren and Nathan were married outside by the reflecting pool at the Garden of the Gods Club. Lauren and Nathan share a passion for the Colorado outdoors and there's nothing more Colorado than Pikes Peak as a backdrop! Lauren and Nathan, with planning help from Melissa of Moonriver Weddings and Events, also decided to see each other before their wedding. We photographed both families beforehand and that gave Lauren and Nathan extra time to spend with their guests after the wedding. I'm super glad for it! I wouldn't have caught the gem below, one of the guests congratulating Lauren, if they had opted for family photographs after the ceremony. Click here to see a slide show of Lauren and Nathan's wedding day. Thanks Lauren and Nathan, I had a wonderful time photographing your wedding! — Sean

Jill and Jason's Garden of the Gods Club Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Brienne photographed Jill and Jason's wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club on Saturday. Their wedding was another one of those small, intimate weddings. (Sounds like a trend:) They were married in the afternoon out by the reflecting pool and celebrated that evening with a private dinner with their guests. Brienne did a fantastic job. Her photographs captured their wedding beautifully. Brienne still has open dates for this summer, so if you're looking for a great wedding photographer at the last minute don't wait, call now! Montida and Thomas' Garden of the Gods Club Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Montida and Thomas were married at the Garden of the Gods Club on Sunday. Theirs was a small, intimate wedding with 40 guests outside on the Sunrise Terrace. Their ceremony was unique to them. Montida is Thai and Thomas is Greek. So they held two ceremonies, the first a Greek Orthodox and the second a Thai Water Blessing. I love how the two ceremonies were blended. I also loved how Montida and Thomas truly enjoyed their guests, something that can be a challenge with a larger guest list. Stay tuned for a slide show of their wedding day soon! — Sean

Christi and Craig's Garden of the Gods Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Christi and Craig's wedding here. Christi and Craig planned a destination wedding with help from Emily of Bella Design and Planning. They were intent on making their wedding weekend relaxed and fun for everyone. Christi and Craig were married at sunset with an awesome view of Pikes Peak. The local wildlife even made an appearance after the ceremony. Apparently, rose petals are good eating:) Christi and Craig didn't want a formal photography session. They wanted something more genuine, so they opted for photo booth where guests could take their own pictures. It was a big hit. Click here to see a slide show of their wedding day. Thanks Christi and Craig! We had so much fun. I can't wait for you to see all of your wedding photographs! — Sean

Lauren and Nathan's Garden of the Gods Club Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

I photographed Lauren and Nathan's wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club on Saturday. They were married on the lawn by the reflecting pool. This is the first year that ceremonies have been held there and it has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever photographed a ceremony. Melissa of Moonriver Weddings and Events planned the day perfectly. My close friend Kent Meireis helped me as a second photographer. He's already posted a slide show as well as more pictures from Lauren and Nathan's wedding on his blog. Click here to see the slide show. Thanks Kent. Shannon and Peter's Air Force Academy Wedding

I posted a sneak peak of Shannon and Peter's Air Force Academy Chapel wedding here. Shannon and Peter scheduled their ceremony in the early afternoon. I love that they planned it that way. We had an hour before their reception at the Garden of the Gods Club so we drove to the Garden of the Gods park for photographs. We arrived at the club just in time for a cocktail hour at sunset and dinner outside on the Garden Terrace. Shannon and Peter met in high school. While at the Air Force Academy Peter was a cadet falconer. So he arranged for a picture opportunity with a cadet and his falcon Banjo. Click here to see a brief slide show of their wedding day. Christi and Craig's Garden of the Gods Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

It has been a perfect couple of days and one of the nicest Memorial Day weekends in Colorado Springs that I can remember. Yesterday, I photographed Christi and Craig's wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club. This is the first year that the Club has allowed ceremonies out by the reflecting pool. The walk with Dad is wonderfully timed. Not too long, not too short. Christi and Craig's wedding day began at the pool. I found the two enjoying lunch with friends. They were very intent on making this a day to remember and not one to worry about. They succeeded:) Emily of Bella Design and Planning coordinated the day. Stay tuned for slide show from their wedding soon! — Sean

Shannon and Peter's Air Force Academy Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

I photographed Shannon and Peter's wedding Saturday at the Air Force Academy. It's hard to imagine that your wedding day can hinge on a hook. But that's what happened yesterday for Shannon when the hook on her dress broke. Still, Shannon made it to the church on time and found a needle and thread that saved the day. Shannon and Peter celebrated with an evening reception at the Garden of the Gods Club for their close family and friends. Despite the dress mishap (which made for a wonderful picture and an unforgettable memory:) Shannon and Peter had a fantastic wedding. Stay tuned for a slide show of their wedding day soon. And thanks Shannon and Peter! I had so much fun spending time with you! – Sean

Heather and Gary's Pauline Chapel Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Heather and Gary's wedding here. And I remember explaining how it was so difficult to select pictures for their wedding preview. Hopefully you can see why! Their wedding was just absolutely fantastic. Planning their day was Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie and she choreographed the whole thing beautifully. Their wedding ceremony at Pauline Chapel started in the late afternoon, and so right there we were guaranteed gorgeous light for the cocktail hour at the Garden of the Gods Club. That led to this unbelievably beautiful photograph, above, by the reflecting pool right before dinner:) Heather and Gary were the best. They were easy going, laid back and enjoyed their day to the fullest. Click here to see a slide show of their wedding day. Thanks Heather and Gary, I had a great time! — Sean

Peggy's Beautiful Coffee Table Book

Coffee Table Books make the perfect parent album. Gina's mother Peggy decided on a 10x10 coffee table book for herself. We just receivedthe book in the mail. It shows off Gina and Mike's wedding wonderfully. Peggy selected photographs for her book online. We designed the book and then, after reviewing it, she placed her order. The book itself comes in with a red slipcover. It also has a bookjacket with an image of Gina and Mike on the front. The pages are linen and our manufacturer laminates them for protection. Mike's mother Linda also decided on a Coffee Table Book and as soon as it arrives we will show it that too! — Sean

Gina and Mike's Fine Art Wedding Book

Gina and Mike wanted a Fine Art Wedding Book and we're adding the finishing touches to it. Like Cindy and Dave's Fine Art Wedding Book, it's just gorgeous. Many of our couples have finished their selections for their wedding albums so we've got two more Fine Art Wedding Booksthat we will show you very soon. It seems like this book is everyone's favorite hands down. What appeals to a lot our couples I think isthe selection of mat colors and cover materials. Gina decided on a gold keyline around her wedding images and I think it really pops. And let's not get started on the selection of cover materials. I know I've mentioned it before, but it's nearly limitless. The favorite for most of our couples, though, is the genuine leather.

Ann and Todd's Pauline Chapel Wedding

Ann and Todd were married in a wonderfully intimate ceremony at Pauline Chapel on a snowy afternoon. I posted a sneak peek of their wedding pictures here. They celebrated afterwards with an evening reception at the Garden of the Gods Club. I loved how they did it. Ann is a professional planner and her expertise really showed. She decided to forgo a lot of the decor that's typical of most weddings. She figured (rightly so) that the holiday decorations at Pauline would be enough. To avoid being hurried, Ann and Todd decided to see each other before the wedding. I was super glad they did. The fresh snow made Ann and Todd's wedding day especially nice. We got to tromp around in the snow and Ann braved it nearly barefoot to make some fun photographs. Click here to see a slideshow of their wedding. Thanks Ann and Todd for inviting me to photograph your amazing day! — Sean

Ann and Todd's Pauline Chapel Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Saturday Ann and Todd were married at Pauline Chapel. They were our first couple of the year to wed on a snow day and I was glad for it. The snow made for some gorgeous outside pictures. Pauline Chapel was beautiful. Ann was more so. Ann and Todd embraced their snowy wedding day with warmth and good humor. After the wedding we made some dramatic pictures outside the chapel at dusk and then headed to the Garden of the Gods Club for their reception. Leah and Ryan's Air Force Academy Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Leah and Ryan's wedding here. We had incredible weather for a wedding in November and I was so happy to be able to photograph as much as we did outside. One thing that made Leah and Ryan's wedding so special is that they're both pilots. They love to fly. And after their reception at the Garden of the Gods Club I photographed them at sunset. I arranged for them to be in a spot that looks like they are standing in the sky. And they were instantly captured by the view; in their own world, oblivious to me. It was like they were flying, Ryan explained. It's what they see every time they're in the air. I left them alone to enjoy the fading sunset and I as I drove away I watched them embrace. I didn't need to take a picture. There are some moments between two people that are better left as they are. Click here to see a slideshow of their wedding day. Thanks Leah and Ryan, I enjoyed every minute! — Sean
