Angie and Chris' Air Force Academy Wedding (Sneak Peek)

Angie and Chris were married at the Air Force Academy Chapel on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009. They celebrated with a reception at Doolittle Hall. You might remember Angie and Chris from their dramatic Washington DC engagement sitting here. Angie and Chris love the mountains and the Garden of the Gods. So, we arranged a private moment for them at the park before their ceremony. I love this shot of Chris seeing Angie for the first time. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped Angie and Chris plan their destination wedding. Jean-Marie Floral Designs did an incredible job with the flowers and ddg Classics provided a beautiful Rolls Royce for them to depart in. Be sure to stay tuned for a slide show of Angie and Chris' Air Force Academy wedding soon! — Sean

Diane and Paul's Engagement Photos

I photographed Diane and Paul's engagement sitting last week. Diane and Paul are planning a July wedding at Hillside Gardens. What's especially fun for me is that I've known Diane for many years. We were both regulars at the early morning spinning class at the Y and we're also neighbors! Sometimes when I go out to photograph a couple I know exactly how I want to photograph them. With Diane and Paul, I knew we were going to photograph in and around their house, and make some pictures at the Garden of the Gods park. But when we came across a field of green at sunset we just had to stop. I love this picture, middle, of them enjoying a moment together. Click here to see a brief slide show of their engagement sitting. Thanks Diane and Paul, I'm really looking forward to your wedding day! — Cathy

Aimee and Brian's Air Force Academy Chapel wedding (a sneak peek)

Aimee and Brian were married Friday, May 15 at the Air Force Academy Chapel and celebrated with a reception at Phantom Canyon Brewery. Aimee and Brian are both in the Air Force, and since Aimee works at the Academy (and she has the access!) we were able to walk to Terrazzo and photograph everyone on Spirit Hill. Aimee planned to have a lot of time for photos at the chapel and Garden of the Gods. This was my first AFA Chapel wedding of the year and it was a blast! I just love to photograph there. The wind was blowing and the sun was shining… a perfect day for a wedding! Keep watch for a slide show from their wedding coming soon! —Cathy

Marissa and Joshua's Engagement Sitting

Marissa and Joshua arrived in Colorado Springs on a beautiful and warm Saturday in the 50's. By Sunday the temperature had dropped to below zero and stayed that way when they met with me for their engagement shoot Monday afternoon. The freezing temperature didn't seem to matter to either of them. This is the first time they've been together in months. Joshua is stationed in London and Marissa lives near Seattle. So I guess you could say that just being together kept them warm and cozy:) So we headed off to the Garden of the Gods and then we stopped at the Broadmoor Hotel for some hot cocoa. We had a wonderful afternoon together. Click here to see a brief slide show of their engagement. Marissa and Joshua, I can't wait for your wedding at the Air Force Academy in June! I'm certain it's going to be a lot warmer:) — Sean

Heather and Dustin's Coffee Table Book

Heather and Dustin's coffee table book arrived yesterday and it looks great. I love the cover of the book showing them in front of Pikes Peak! And I love the black slipcover with silver letter press. It looks smashing and it's a nice change from the red slipcover we usually order.Heather and Dustin's coffee table book is 20 pages and chock full of photographs. Lauren and Nathan's Garden of the Gods Club Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Lauren and Nathan's wedding here. Lauren and Nathan were married outside by the reflecting pool at the Garden of the Gods Club. Lauren and Nathan share a passion for the Colorado outdoors and there's nothing more Colorado than Pikes Peak as a backdrop! Lauren and Nathan, with planning help from Melissa of Moonriver Weddings and Events, also decided to see each other before their wedding. We photographed both families beforehand and that gave Lauren and Nathan extra time to spend with their guests after the wedding. I'm super glad for it! I wouldn't have caught the gem below, one of the guests congratulating Lauren, if they had opted for family photographs after the ceremony. Click here to see a slide show of Lauren and Nathan's wedding day. Thanks Lauren and Nathan, I had a wonderful time photographing your wedding! — Sean

Lauren and Nathan's Garden of the Gods Club Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

I photographed Lauren and Nathan's wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club on Saturday. They were married on the lawn by the reflecting pool. This is the first year that ceremonies have been held there and it has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever photographed a ceremony. Melissa of Moonriver Weddings and Events planned the day perfectly. My close friend Kent Meireis helped me as a second photographer. He's already posted a slide show as well as more pictures from Lauren and Nathan's wedding on his blog. Click here to see the slide show. Thanks Kent. Heather and Dale's Engagement Sitting

I photographed Heather and Dale's engagement sitting yesterday afternoon. Heather and Dale are planning a fall wedding at the Broadmoor. Heather grew up in a house just a couple of blocks from mine and she wanted to make some pictures on the swing in her yard. It was a challenge to keep their labs entertained while we photographed, but we managed:) Afterwards we headed to the Garden of the Gods and then over to Rockledge Ranch. This weekend was a nice reprieve for both. They are busy finishing up med school and preparing for their residencies. Click here to see a brief slide show of their engagement. And thanks Heather and Dale. I can't wait for your wedding! — Sean

Paula's Bridal Portrait

I want to show some pictures of Paula from her bridal session. I actually photographed her wedding at the Broadmoor in December. She was visiting her folks last week and putting away her dress when she thought "Wouldn't it be cool to have some pictures made?" I agreed that was an excellent idea:) And so, without worry of ruining the dress, we photographed at sunset at the Garden of the Gods. She was stunning and and the light was incredible. I liked these two pictures in particular. But as you can imagine, there were many more images for Paula to enjoy. Thanks so much Paula. I had fantastic time! — Sean

Heather and Dustin's Shove Chapel Wedding

I posted a sneak peak of Heather and Dustin's wedding here. I missed Heather and Dustin's first wedding. Except for Judge Patterson most of Heather and Dustin's friends and family missed their first wedding too. That's because while Dustin was serving in Iraq and Heather was training for a marathon they decided to get married by proxy (think really long distance). And so the formality of their wedding was taken care of long before Dustin returned to help plan a real, honest-to-goodness wedding at Shove Chapel and reception at Phantom Canyon Brewery. This time we were all there to enjoy it. We had a fabulous day to work with and Heather and Dustin saw each other before the wedding to take advantage of the daylight. Click here to see a slideshow of their wedding and thanks Heather and Dustin. The second time around was definitely better than the first! — Sean

Maggie and Oliver's Engagement Session

Last weekend I photographed Maggie and Oliver's engagment session at the Garden of the Gods. Maggie and Oliver are planning an August wedding next year. Cathy will be photographing their wedding, but because she's expecting the birth of our second child (like any day now) I did their engagement pictures. Maggie is an engineer and Oliver is attending law school in Kansas. They are both from Colorado Springs and they wanted pictures with the mountains they love. I think we managed to pull it off :) and we had a great time running around the garden! To see a brief slideshow from their engagement pictures click here. — Sean
