Vivian at six months

I stopped by Jen and Mike's recently to photograph their daughter Vivian. Vivian is six months old now and cute as a button, she still has HUGE eyes and she's starting to eat some "solid" food. We had a lot of fun feeding her, giving her a bath and then photographing her with Mom and Dad. —Cathy

Oh thank heaven for Thanksmas!

We got to spend a rare Saturday night celebrating Thanksmas with friends. It's the holiday between Thanksgiving and Christmas where we all gather for dinner at Jen and Mike Rivers and then pawn off our unwanted Christmas gifts from past years in a rousing gift exchange. The newest members of the gang, Greg and Carolye, above, show off their loot:) And in case you're interested, Mike operates his own investment management firm. Welcome Baby Vivian

I photographed the brand new baby Vivian on Sunday. She was born Aug. 22 to our good friends Jennifer and Mike. She's such a doll…quiet, happy and super-mellow (she sleeps a lot too!). If all newborns were like Vivian everyone would want one! My session with them is part of a year-in-the-life project. — Cathy

Jennifer's Maternity Portrait

Jen and Mike are expecting their first baby in two short weeks.We photographed their wedding three years ago and we've been friends ever since. Jen is an engineer and the founder of Cool Science, a school program designed to turn kids on to science. (Which is pretty cool by us:) Mike is the owner of Athena Capital Management and we've entrusted him with our own little nest egg. We've always enjoyed their company and we love to get together for hikes and dinner. Now we will have even more reasons to visit since our babies will be just a few months apart! I decided to go to the demonstration gardens for some of her photos. Then we migrated back to our place where we photographed (at Jen's request) a really cool silhouette in the doorway. Nice! — Cathy
