Anne and Ben's Coffee Table Books

I photographed Anne and Ben's wedding at Keystone Ranch in August and I just received their three-volume set of coffee tablebooks. Anne and Ben decided on a one cover image for their own book and another cover image for their parent's 8x8 companionalbums. The books are beautiful and so was their wedding day. We raced the oncoming rain storm and Anne and Ben hada wonderful outdoor ceremony before dinner and dancing inside the ranch house. Each book is 30 pages and each one is alittle different inside too. We replaced some group photographs inside of both Anne and Ben's albums to represent eachfamily. Click here to see a slide show of their wedding day. I can't wait for Anne and Ben to see their books! They will makethe PERFECT Christmas gifts! — Sean

Christine and Nathan's Keystone Ranch Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Christine and Nathan's wedding here. Christine and Nathan were married at Keystone Ranch Saturday, September 20, 2008. They had a delightful wedding and while we went inside for the ceremony due to rain, we were still able to photograph outside. I love this moment (above) of Christine and Nathan kissing. Christine and Nathan planned their destination wedding by themselves and they pulled it off wonderfully. I photographed their wedding by myself, without an assistant, which was really a lot of fun. Christine and Nathan's wedding day had one great moment after another. Click here to see a brief slide show of their wedding day. Thank you Christine and Nathan for inviting me to photograph your wedding! — Sean

Christine and Nathan's Keystone Ranch Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Saturday I photographed Christine and Nathan's wedding at Keystone Ranch. Christine and Nathan decided to see each other before their wedding ceremony and boy am I glad they did! It started to rain right before their ceremony so everything was held inside. Fortunately, seeing each other before their wedding gave us time to take out any ketchup stains:), do all of their family photographs with the mountains in the background and catch a little bit of the fall color. Stay tuned for a slide show of their wedding day soon and thanks Christine and Nate, I had a fantastic time photographing your wedding! — Sean

Anne and Ben's Keystone Ranch Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Anne and Ben's wedding here. Anne and Ben were married at the Keystone Ranch Saturday, August 9, 2008. Anne and Ben live in Boston and Anne's parents live in Keystone.Keystone Ranch turned out to be a great location for their destination wedding. Anne and Ben's outdoor ceremony happened right before an afternoon rain shower. The storm clouds over the mountains made a dramatic backdrop. Emily of Bella Design and Planning helped Anne and Ben plan their Rocky Mountain wedding. There were a lot of meaningful moments to be photographed. I love this shot of Anne and her Dad (below) right before the ceremony. Click here to see a brief slide show of their wedding day. Thank you Anne and Ben. It was a pleasure to photograph your wedding! – Sean

Anne and Ben's Keystone Ranch Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

On Saturday I photographed Anne and Ben's Keystone Ranch wedding. Anne and Ben planned a destination mountain wedding at the Ranch. Emily of Bella Design and Planning did a superb job assisting them in their planning. Anne and Ben and their guests were lucky enough to escape the rain (albeit briefly) to enjoy their wedding ceremony outside with an incredible Rocky Mountain backdrop. Dina and Stacy of The Petal and Bean in Breckenridge did a wonderful job with the ornate arch for the ceremony. After the wedding Anne and Ben hosted a reception for their guests inside. The reception included a fabulous desert table courtesy of Keystone's own Executive Pastry Chef Ned Archibald. A dance tent with lighting by Pink Monkey was also set up outside. Stay tuned for a slide show of Anne and Ben's Keystone Ranch wedding soon and thanks Anne and Ben for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day! – Sean

Gita and Nick's Keystone Wedding

An earlier post gave a sneak peak of Gita and Nick's wedding at the Ranch at Keystone Resort. They were married on 7.7.07, a day that saw a record number of weddings. Theirs was especially lucky, since Gita and Nick celebrated their wedding day with two ceremonies, one Hindu and one Christian. They also made a weekend out of their wedding with scheduled events, including an Indian dance party Thursday night. Their wedding was the perfect blend of both families' cultural traditions. Click here to see a brief slideshow of their wedding including the dance party and an incredible rehearsal dinner at the Keystone Stables. Thanks so much Gita and Nick for inviting me to photograph your wedding! — Sean

Gita and Nick on 7/7/07 (A Sneak Peek)

The weekend of July 7, 2007 was a big one for me and Cathy! We saved a spot on our calendar for a wonderful couple, Gita and Nick from Atlanta and bound for Seattle. Nick grew up skiing in the winter at Keystone and golfing in the summer at Keystone Ranch. During one of their get-away trips to Keystone, Gita and Nick decided it would be the perfect location for their wedding. Theirs was no ordinary wedding. Nick and Gita planned an elaborate four-day affair for their family and friends that included both Indian and Western traditions. It also involved two ceremonies on their wedding day. Gita and Nick were married in a Hindu and a Christian ceremony. Did I mention they had a great time? Well they did! Thanks Nick and Gita for inviting Cathy and I to photograph your wedding weekend! Have fun on your African safari and I hope you thoroughly enjoy Paris! Send me pictures:) – Sean

Wendy and Carter's Keystone Wedding

We've been up in the mountains for the past couple of weeks so it was interesting to photograph Keystone the weekend after Cathy photographed Rachel and Matt's wedding at the Ranch. This time it was as a second photographer for Travis Broxton. I mentioned earlier that Travis travels quite a bit into the mountains. He's a Denver-based photographer and I make it a point every summer to shoot with him at least once. Travis will help me out later this year for one of my weddings. I'm really excited about that! It's super fun to photograph a wedding and try to tackle it visually in a different fashion. I spent a lot time quietly photographing Wendy and Carter's wedding at the Ranch trying to be still with my camera and t0 let things unfold around me. Click here to see a brief slideshow from their wedding. Also, if you view the slideshow, it will drop you off at Travis' website. Take a look around. He's a wonderful photographer and a great person! — Sean

Rachel and Matt's Keystone Wedding

Rachel and Matt had the perfect Colorado mountain wedding. They were married in an afternoon ceremony under a beautiful Colorado sky at the Ranch at Keystone Resort. They both agreed: photos before the wedding so they could celebrate after! We arranged a private moment near the ceremony site which resulted in some fabulous photos of the two of them. Their ceremony followed and it was wonderfully intimate. At twilight the light was magnificent so we went back outside for a final portrait. Thank you to Rachel and Matt for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day! Click here to see a slideshow of their wedding. — Cathy

Wedding photography on the sidelines

I just returned from Keystone Ranch where I photographed as a second photographer for Travis Broxton. Each year I try and meet up with Travis for at least one of his weddings. Travis is a Denver-based wedding photojournalist who treks almost weekly into the mountains to capture incredible weddings and incredible moments. He's a great photographer and a good friend. I really enjoy the chance to sit on the sidelines so-to-speak as a second photographer and find moments like this. These boys were playing soccer on the golf course at sunset while everyone else was inside. This type of photography is not only a lot of fun, but it adds depth to any wedding essay. If you're a wedding photographer, consider working as a second shooter for a weekend or two every year. It's wonderfully liberating. If you're a bride or groom, consider having a second photographer assist your principal photographer. As much as we might try, we can never be in more than one place at a time. Stay tuned later in the month for a slideshow from this wonderful wedding! And thanks again Travis! — Sean
