Anne and Michael's Pauline Chapel Wedding

Anne and Michael were married at Pauline Chapel Monday, September 7, 2009. I posted a sneak peek of their wedding here. Anne and Michael were married in the morning and held a lunch reception across the street in the Lake Terrace dining room at the Broadmoor Hotel. I love this shot of Anne and Michael exiting the chapel by bubbles. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped to plan their day. One idea that is always popular with our couples is a group photograph at the cocktail hour. It's a nice way to photograph all of your guests and not have to pose for too many stuffy formal photographs. Click here to see a slide show of Anne and Michael's Pauline Chapel wedding. Thanks Anne and Michael for inviting me to photograph your wedding! — Cathy

Mamie and Nick's Pauline Chapel Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Mamie and Nick's Pauline Chapel wedding here. Mamie and Nick were married Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Pauline Chapel. Afterwards Mamie and Nick joined their guests for cocktails and dinner at the Garden of the Gods Club. Mamie and Nick's wedding day wasn't complete without twists and turns in the weather. We saw a rain storm during the ceremony and enjoyed cocktails at sunset outside on the patio of the club. Mamie and Nick also made time for a portrait session at the Garden of the Gods. Mamie and Nick's Pauline Chapel Wedding (Sneak Peek)

You might remember Mamie and Nick from their engagement sitting last fall. On Saturday I photographed their wedding at Pauline Chapel, a beautiful and historic landmark just across the street from the Broadmoor. Of course Memorial Day weekend is never complete without thunderstorms. Still, we managed to catch the best part of the weekend before their reception at the Garden of the Gods Club. On the way to the reception we rode in a 1959 Rolls Royce through the Garden of the Gods park and made this fun photograph! The car was courtesy of ddg Classics. Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie helped Mamie and Nick plan their wedding. And the flowers that made the flower girls truly flower-like were provided by Design Works. Stay tuned for a slide show of Mamie and Nick's Pauline Chapel wedding soon! — Sean

Kate and Neil's Coffee Table Book

Two 60-page coffee table books of Kate and Neil's wedding arrived in our office yesterday. One for Kate's mom, the other for Kate and Neil.
The books look great! I'm so impressed with the heft of these books, 60 pages is a lot, and it holds a ton of photos! Kate and Neil were married in August of 2008 at Pauline Chapel. You can see slide show from their wedding here. Kate was baptized in the Chapel, so it was appropriate that she get married there. Their day wasfilled with friends and family all pitching in to make it beautiful. Neil's cousin presided over the ceremony. They drove off from the ceremony in a fabulous old car restored by a family friend. Kate and Neil live in Hawaii and choose a tropical theme for their reception at the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club. Mi tai's were the signature drink and the cake and cupcake display were adorn with tropical flowers. I think the coffee table books does a great job of showcasing the special moments of their wedding. I can't wait for them to see it! —Cathy

Heather and Gary's Fine Art Book

We just finished Heather and Gary's Fine Art Book. It's a wonderful wedding album with a lot of pages and large picturesthat are displayed beautifully in the book. Heather and Gary were married at the Pauline Chapel in May 3, 2008. Heather andGary decided to highlight their pictures with a gray mat and a white key line. A great feature of the Fine Art Book is the numerous cover materials. In general though, most of our couples stick with the classics. Heather and Gary chose a genuine black leather as theircover. One thing that really makes their book for me are the moments. We had a lot of fun photographing their wedding. And that'sbecause they had a lot fun! I'm so pleased with how their book turned out. I love this last spread from the Garden of the Gods Clubwith a snowcapped Pikes Peak in the background. Click here to see a slide show of their wedding day. — Sean

Dinah and Alex's Pauline Chapel Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Dinah and Alex's Pauline Chapel Wedding here. Dinah and Alex were married Saturday October 11, 2008. They held a small ceremony at the Pauline Chapel and celebrated with a private dinner reception at the Broadmoor's Penrose Room. In planning her wedding, Dinah placed a premium on photography. I love this shot of Dinah and Alex at the altar steps. To make this dramatic picture, Dinah's brother John (a budding photojournalist who knows more about cameras than I do:) helped me by holding a remote flash. Thank you John! That evening the fog rolled in and before I left I made this moody shot of the Broadmoor. Click here to see a brief slideshow of their wedding day and a big thanks to Dinah and Alex and their pooches:) for inviting me to photograph their wedding! — Sean

Dinah and Alex's Pauline Chapel Wedding (A Sneak Peek)

Dinah and Alex were married on Saturday at the Pauline Chapel. They celebrated with a reception across the street at the Broadmoor Hotel. Dinah and Alex planned a destination wedding from Oklahoma City and invited 24 of their closest family and friends to their wedding. Their reception was held in the exclusive Penrose Room. One of Dinah's priorities on her wedding day was making sure she had great wedding photographs. I love this dramatic bridal portrait of Dinah wrapped in her veil before the ceremony. I also thought some of their guests were awfully cute:) Stay tuned for a slide show from their wedding day soon! — Sean

Kate and Neil's Colorado Springs Wedding

I photographed Kate and Neil's wedding Saturday, August 30 at the Pauline Chapel. They held a dinner reception at the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club immediately following. Kate and Neil are both in the military and are currently stationed in Hawaii. But Kate grew up in Colorado Springs and they both decided to return to her home parish for the wedding. They also decided to see each other before their wedding. And that made for a quick and bubbly getaway after their ceremony:) Kate and Neil's wedding was intimate and had lots of charm along with a little of the tropics. Holly and Adam's Coffee Table Book

I just received Holly and Adam's coffee table book and I can't be more thrilled. I remember when Holly and Adam first reserved us. They wanted to purchase a flush mount album. Flush mount albums are made laminating photographic prints onto the page. I haven't seen a flush mount album yet that doesn't start to de-laminate at some point, especially in humidity. After their wedding Holly and Adam decided against the flushmount and instead chose our 40-page coffee table book. The images in the book are printed ON linen paper. It's bound in the same way the photo books in Borders are. The way our coffee table book is made is the reason why we offer them and not the flush mount albums. Holly and Adam had a fantastic wedding at Pauline Chapel and celebrated afterwards with a reception in the Ross Room at the Broadmoor Hotel. I can't wait for them to see their book! – Cathy

Heather and Gary's Pauline Chapel Wedding

I posted a sneak peek of Heather and Gary's wedding here. And I remember explaining how it was so difficult to select pictures for their wedding preview. Hopefully you can see why! Their wedding was just absolutely fantastic. Planning their day was Maggie of Celebrations by Maggie and she choreographed the whole thing beautifully. Their wedding ceremony at Pauline Chapel started in the late afternoon, and so right there we were guaranteed gorgeous light for the cocktail hour at the Garden of the Gods Club. That led to this unbelievably beautiful photograph, above, by the reflecting pool right before dinner:) Heather and Gary were the best. They were easy going, laid back and enjoyed their day to the fullest. Click here to see a slide show of their wedding day. Thanks Heather and Gary, I had a great time! — Sean
