Erica's Bridal Portrait

A few weeks back I photographed Erica and Bryan's engagement sitting. You can see those pictures here. The next day we did Erica's bridal portrait. It was super fun and the images are out of this world! Iasked Erica for permission to post these. A big thanks to Erica's parents Pamela and Mark and her brother Aaron for helping me with the shoot. You can see a little behind the scenes of Erica's bridal portrait in this second picture. Pamela and Aaron helped me light Erica with this dramatic sunset as a backdrop. — Sean

Shannon's Bridal Portait (the slide show)

I posted photographs from Shannon's bridal portrait here and I promised a slide show. So here it is! You might remember that Cathy and I were not the photographers. Rather, our associate photographer Brienne along with our second photographers Surya, Cynthia and Marianne did all of the work. Although it wasn't really work, it was a lot of fun! Shannon was gracious enough to don her dress for a second time; she's happily married and raising a beautiful four-year-old boy. And everyone got to practice their portraiture. I got to practice my photoshop. I took liberties with many of the images in the slide show and really funkified them. So we all got to stretch our wings a bit before a busy season and I'm super glad for it. To see the slide show click here and thanks Shannon for being a patient and beautiful model.(I think she's a dead ringer for Glenn Close:)— Sean

Shannon's Bridal Portrait

It's been crazy around here and I haven't had a chance to show some of the work we've been doing. It's not really my work or Cathy's work but work done by our associate photographer Brienne and second photographers Surya, Cynthia and Marianne. By the way, Brienne still has some openings this summer so please call if you're interested in a fantastic photographer for an incredible deal! Surya's friend Shannon, who is already married and has a beautiful four-year-old boy, was willing to put her wedding dress back on so our photographers could get some practice. (A wedding dress really CAN be worn more than once:) And we had a blast photographing her. We will be posting a slide show from the portrait sitting very shortly so stay tuned! — Sean

Paula's Bridal Portrait

I want to show some pictures of Paula from her bridal session. I actually photographed her wedding at the Broadmoor in December. She was visiting her folks last week and putting away her dress when she thought "Wouldn't it be cool to have some pictures made?" I agreed that was an excellent idea:) And so, without worry of ruining the dress, we photographed at sunset at the Garden of the Gods. She was stunning and and the light was incredible. I liked these two pictures in particular. But as you can imagine, there were many more images for Paula to enjoy. Thanks so much Paula. I had fantastic time! — Sean

Paula's wonderful note

Paula and Younes were married December 1 in an intimate ceremony in the Utah Copper Room of the Broadmoor Hotel. I just received a wonderful handwritten note from Paula:

'Words cannot express how much we appreciate all of the amazing and thoughtful photos you took at our wedding...We're so pleased with them and are excited to share them with our family and friends. You made everyone feel so at ease and captured special moments and expressions that we will all treasure for years to come.' — Paula

It's so nice to receive a note like Paula's and it means a lot to me. I've included a portrait of her from her wedding day that I think is really magical. Thanks again Paula and I'm really looking forward to creating your album! — Sean

Behind the scenes of a bridal portrait

We were overwhelmed by the notes from our friends and from readers of this blog about the photographs from Morgan's bridal portrait. And honestly we were thrilled with the results. So was Morgan. We received a nice note from her today.I wanted to post some photos of us working so that you could see a little behind the scenes view of the session. We all pitched in. (And had a fantastic time doing it!) Morgan had two of her closest friends help her and we helped each other to get the pictures.
Whether it was me escorting Morgan to the top of a ledge or it was Cathy assisting Morgan with her petticoat or it was Surya walking backwards with flash in hand, we all worked hard to make it happen. And after the seeing the pictures, we agreed we would do it again in a heartbeat(as long as they wear the right shoes:)— Sean

Morgan's Bridal Portrait

When Morgan called and asked us to do her bridal portrait we jumped at the chance. It's a southern tradition to have a portrait of the bride in her dress. A picture from this session is usually on display at the wedding. In this part of the country, bridal portraits are rare. Morgan will be married next April in Texas and she was really looking forward to doing something with the Colorado Rockies as a backdrop. Boy did we have fun! Morgan wasn't the least bit shy about putting on her dress and scrambling over the rocks at the Garden of the Gods. Originally, Sean was scheduled to do her portrait, but he was feeling under the weather. So Surya (our good friend, former bride and now a second photographer in training) and I teamed up and Sean came along to hold the off-camera flash. Click here to see a brief slideshow of Morgan's bridal portrait. — Cathy
